Equine Physiotherapy
Horses are predisposed to many injuries both from ridden work and accidents in the field.
Equine physiotherapy can help to recover from an injury or to help manage and treat conditions and disorders. Rehabilitation is important when a horse occurs an injury, condition or following surgery to keep them as comfortable as possible. Preoperative rehabilitation or prehabilitation, is also important with the aim to reduce complications and enhance recovery prior surgical intervention to optimise surgical outcomes. I will create a tailored treatment plan to reach your goals and return your horse or as close as possible to normal function.
Multiple conditions can benefit from treatment to include conservative management and post-surgery rehabilitation:
-
Osteoarthritis
-
Acute or Chronic Wounds
-
Soft tissue injuries (muscle, tendons and ligaments)
-
Spinal conditions (kissing spines)
-
Sacroiliac Dysfunction
-
Poor performance
-
Neurological conditions
-
Fractures
-
Muscle Imbalance
Maintenance treatments or routine treatments are also beneficial for all horses from competition to happy hackers. Maintenance sessions helps to prevent injuries and disorders from occurring but also improves their overall health, mobility and performance. Prevention is better than cure!
